Floor Renovation

5-50mm in one pass. Suitable for concrete, timber, insulation, old floor finishes in some cases.

Cement based, fibre reinforced liquid screeds are perfect for renovating old floors ready to receive a new floor finish. Compatible with tile and wood floor adhesives and also suitable for vinyl flooring or carpet this really is the perfect all round solution to any renovation project.

This screed can be applied on top of existing tiles, wooden floors, damaged concrete, stone flags and even as a floating floor over insulation. The fibres within the screed knit together to create an incredibly strong floor even at depths of as little as 5mm and the rapid drying times mean that floor finishes can be laid within a fraction of the time possible with traditional screeds.

Underfloor Heating

Depending on the details of your project Northern Floor Screeds can advise you on which product would best suit your needs. We work closely with experienced UFH installers and can arrange a quote for a full UFH and screed system if required.

Traditional Underfloor Heating

If installing an Underfloor Heating system in a new build property or new extension it will most likely be a traditional system. 16mm pipes encapsulated in a screed slab between 40mm - 100mm. We use a ready-mixed cement based or anhydrite liquid screed transported on a concrete mixer wagon and pumped in using one of our pumps.

Low Profile/Lightweight Underfloor Heating

These systems are becoming increasingly popular as a way to modernise older properties or to introduce Underfloor heating to levels other than the ground floor. The 10mm pipes are either encapsulated in a 15-20mm flexible screed slab or pressed into an insulated board and then screeded over with a 5-6mm skin of flexible screed.

Here we use pre-bagged, cement based screeds which give us the capability to work to very low depths whilst maintaining their strength and flexibility, while offering extremely fast drying times to ensure your project keeps moving.

Electric Underfloor Heating

Similar to the low profile water systems, this is usually installed as a “Retrofit or Overlay” solution. Being much slimmer than the 10mm pipes this can be the best solution for projects in which the floor cannot be raised by much. This is commonly used to take the chill out of colder floor finishes such as tiles, rather than as a solution to heat the home.

Using a pre-bagged cement based flexible screed we can cover electric Underfloor Heating with as little as 8mm total depth.
